If you consume 2,100 to 6,00 calories per day, consider this carefully: not only is it detrimental to your health, but you are doubling the risk of memory loss in your later life. Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) will come knocking at your door earlier than you expect.
In Minnesota, a study was carried out on 1,233 elderly between the ages of 70-89 who do not suffer from dementia. However, 163 had MCI, and they belong to the group which consumes between 2,143-6,00 calories per day.
“Cutting calories and eating foods that make up a healthy diet may be a simpler way to prevent memory loss as we age,” said Yona E. Gredas, (MD, MSc) at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
